Our mission for early learning & development
Our aim at Crocodile Rock Day Care is to make the early years of your child’s life as enjoyable, rewarding and positive as possible. We believe that children should have fun at nursery and actively promote learning through play.
Our objective is to help children achieve their full potential. We provide an environment rich in active learning opportunities, supported by a qualified team trained to enhance the learning of your child.
All activities are planned to meet each child’s individual needs, within the standards set by the Early Years Foundation Stage. This approach will help your child to develop to the best of their ability.
Government Funding
We provide 15 hours per week Government funding for children over 9 month old, up to 30 hours per week for 3 to 4 year olds term time,
We also understand not all parents/carers work term time therefore we are able to stretch these hours over the whole year, this would give you either 11 or 22 hours each week, depending on if you receive the 15 or 30 hours funding.
Please note, the setting will be closed bank holidays and between Christmas and New Year

Situated in Mansfield just on the outskirts of the town, we cater for babies, toddlers and pre-school children between the ages of three months to 5 years also offering a holiday, breakfast and after school club for school aged children, offering full-day sessions between 7.30am and 6pm, half day (up to 5 hours) Monday to Friday.
We are registered with Ofsted and Ofsted have rated the quality and standards of our early year’s provision as Good.
We believe that children, who are in a happy environment, learn their best. Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is designed to help children grow in self-confidence and self-esteem. The curriculum covers all nursery ages and continues to be in use till the end of the child’s 1st year in school. The EYFS looks at key areas of learning and planned activities (adult-led) and child initiated activities are provided to monitor and record children’s individual achievements, whilst incorporating their interests. The EYFS enhances children’s social and emotional skills, language, physical, literacy, maths, understanding of the world and expressive arts skills. Our children are encouraged to become independent learners and to acquire the skills necessary for the future.
Environment
By this we mean the learning environment we provide for our little ones. Our nurseries are both different, but both have a focus on making our little individuals feel safe and comfortable. We provide a wide range of facilities at each location to encourage exploration and inspire our little ones to be creative and learn by doing.

Learning
We aim to provide an environment that encourages learning through play and exploration. We believe learning is a journey of imagination and development – from physical and emotional to communication skills.

Individualism
Each child is unique, our staff will work hard to work alongside you in best understanding the needs of your little one. Our wide range of activities is included to support each child’s developmental needs. We will use praise and encouragement continuously to ensure each child is growing in confidence and developing a positive attitude to learning through play.
All of our rooms have been specially designed to support each stage of your child's development, offering welcoming, motivating and exploratory spaces. We are proud to offer a high-quality Early Years experience that provides a firm foundation for every child's future success.
